Just returned from a 3 night stay at this caravan park and what pleasure it was to stop at such rural site without been isolated.
The site is spick and spam and as I been here a few times the owner always seem to make alterations and its getting better all the time, four new hardstands being constructed. New tile floor in the ladies a new length of a lovely timber fence,
and from what I gather a solar panel on the roof of the toilet block, extra trees planted and the grass always close cropped.
The toilet block is always spotless with showers and toilets and wash hand basins. Water points very close,
and elsan point and bins also close by and fire points here and there and all the hardstanding is level and spacious with ehu to every one
The views over Pendal hill are fantastic. Ribchester is walking distance with pubs and shops and Longridge is five minutes drive by car. If anyone is looking for a nice quiet decent site which is rural without been isolated try this one you wont be disappointed its a little gem

Just returned from a very enoyable weekend away at Dale Hey Farm. There were 7 families all with caravans and we all had a great time.
The site is very well laid out and all pitches are on hardstanding. The showers and toilets are really nice and large each has their own sink and a chair, there's plenty of room if you have young children.
This site is within walking distance of Ribchester which has a great kids park and local pubs are friendly and allow dogs and children. The views are stunning over the Ribble Valley.
The owners are very friendly and make you welcome, they are making this site into a top site and they are continuously looking for ways to improve it and work is ongoing with its expansion.
I would recommend this site to anyone who is looking for a good location and relaxing break away, yet close to lovely villages in the Ribble Valley.
We will be returning to this lovely site in the not too distant future as they only close for a short period and reopen again in December for the year.

Visited site for the first time over the weekend and it lived up to expectations. It is quite easy to spot on the left as you approach Ribchester from Longridge.
The owner is attentive when you arrive. She prefers you to pay cash but at £12 per night it was excellent value. The site is well laid out and although part is on a slope the touring caravan pitches are level.
The toilet block was kept very clean and tidy with a good supply of toilet rolls and handwash is provided. The showers are the push button type but the water is hot and the pressure is good. The gents had two WCs' and two showers and two wash basins (WHB) which seemed entirely adequate as there were never any queues.
I understand that the ladies have individual rooms with shower, WC and (WHB) There is no potwash facility at the moment although one appears to be under construction.
There are a number of different small walks into a wooded area accessed from the touring field which are ideal for those with dogs. The site does not have a shop (although Catherine was selling fresh plums) but there is a Spar in Ribchester a twenty minute walk away and Sainsburys in Longridge (with a cashpoint) a ten minute drive.
The site does not have a designated child play area but the children we saw had plenty of space to run and enjoyed themselves.
There are open views across the ribble Valley to Pendle Hill and Longridge fell can just be seen in the other direction. There are places of interest in the 'Roman' settlement of Ribchester and good walking around the site and in the area.
We will return to this peaceful site.

We have been back again to this campsite as we had such a lovely time last time. Just had to warn fellow campers though that the traffic wardens in the village are very eager.
We were just finishing a lovely meal in the White Bull when we realised we were slightly over our ticket time. My husband rushed back to the car and we had a ticket timed at 12mins after the ticket ran out my husband got back to the car 15mins after the ticket had run out so warned!
Other than that the campsite is fab. The views are lovely and they now have an ice cream van calling, although we did not partake!

A very pleasant site with excellent quality pitches.
Access is controlled via an automatic barrier with swipe access.
There is a large, relatively recently planted wood with mown paths and interesting views, which is excellent for walking and/or dog walking, attached to, and owned by the site.
The toilet facilities seem to be nearly new and in excellent condition, there are no additional charges for the use of showers.
All EHUs are 10 Amp.
There is a SPAR/Post Office about half a mile away in Ribchester which sells newspapers and basic provisions. There is much better shopping available about 2 miles away in Longridge with a Sainsburys, COOP and some excellent butchers.
There are 3 basic areas used for camping/caravanning they are.
1) A six van site near the road, each pitch with more than adequate hardstanding and EHUs surrounded by really high quality grassed area.
2) A similar area more slopping each with hardstanding and EHU, further from the road used mainly for longer term pitches.
3) An all weather/winter site with 12 EHU leading to a rally area without facilities.
We stayed in the area near the road. The road noise was discernible but not too obtrusive. If the weather was very hot requiring all windows to be wide open then it may be more of a problem for light sleepers, particularly on the two pitches nearest the road.
John the site owner said that it was their intention to build a soil bank between the road and the site which would effectively eliminate the road noise.
The other two parts of the site were not near the road and there was no discernible road noise.
The site is well run, well managed by John and his family who go out of their way to be pleasant and helpful.
The site fees £12.00 a night are very reasonable for the area.

A gem of a site, clean, tidy and well maintained. We stayed for a long weekend on a hard standing pitch over looking a forest and Pendle hill (stunning), for just £12 a night all in.
Does slightly miss a playground for young ones to be amused but there is a great park in Ribchester itself.
Very happy dog though with a fabulous dog walk that has plenty of bins, & different paths so you don't get bored walking the same route.
We have already booked for the August Bank Hol & at £12 a night great value!

We also stayed on the little 6 caravan bit, have to say the road noise was a bit disturbing I think the locals must use is a thoroughfare as they don't half speed past!
That said the site is beautiful, the woodland walk is fab for everyone our dogs loved it - I even spotted a deer! Ribchester itself is within easy walking distance and we visited the back bull and the white bull both lovely with real ale - my husband was in his element.
We will be back as soon as we can but we'll go for the bigger touring bit away from the road.
Defo one to return to.

We stayed here for 5 nights on our first ever caravan holiday. John, the owner, was very helpful and always there if we needed him. We were in the small 6 van field which was lovely with great views. This field is closest to the road but there wasn't too much road noise.
The site is very well kept, the shower block was always spotless and well stocked. There are 3 loos, one basin and 2 shower cubicles in the ladies and similar in the gents. The showers are free, the push-button type and there is a separate area with a chair and hooks for clothes and a wash basin in each cubicle. There are plenty of water points around the site, general waste and recycling bins and a small information board. There are no pot-washing facilities.
The bottom of the site is planted with young trees and makes a very pleasant walk and a perfect dog-walk, with plenty of poo bins.
It is a 15-20 minute walk downhill to Ribchester where there is a Spar and two pubs, both of which allow dogs in. We were recommended the Ribchester Arms and found the food to be very good quality and reasonably priced. Take a torch if you're walking back in the dark as, although there is pavement all the way, the street lights stop about half way.
The bus to Longridge and Clitheroe stops outside the site if you stick your arm out!
If you're travelling to the site from the M6, there is a rather hairy bend in Ribchester - fine if nothing's coming the other way but a bit nerve-wracking for us novices when we met a huge oncoming coach. We went back home the other way, through Longridge!
All in all, we had a great holiday at a very reasonable price on a lovely site. We look forward to going back soon.

Hi Catherine & John,
We stayed at Dale Hey Farm and what a wonderful surprise. One of the best sites we have stayed on in 50 years of caravanning.
Good large pitches, wonderful views, the most brilliant dog walks and spotless clean facilities...well done, we shall call again....
Thanks a lot..... Ann & Fred.

We had a lovely stay at Dale Hey; it was our first outing in our new (to us) caravan and John was very friendly and helpful and gave some good tips for walks and outings, and all things caravanning in general. The site was very peaceful with fantastic views, and the toilets and showers were excellent being very clean at every visit.
We will definitely return and we thoroughly recommend this site and location to others. Another fantastic bonus is the price - £12 per night! we paid £33 the previous night near Lytham, and feel Dale Hey was far superior.

Stayed for 2 nights on the 5 van site for £10 inc. EHU and W.C. Facilities. John and Catherine, the owners were most pleasant and helpful.
John a mine of information on local hostelries offering fine food and real ale,the White Bull and Ribchester Arms being fine examples.
The site was beautifully kept with well planned walks incorporated, a joy for responsible dog owners. Wonderful views in all directions from the site's elevated position.
An excellent base for walkers wishing to explore all the attractions the Ribble Valley has to offer, and the bus stops outside the site for those who wish to travel further.
Couldn't fault anything, the sun shone, Catherine's home made plum jam went down a treat and we will be back often to this excellent site.

Stayed at dale hey for 3 nights we were made very welcome by John the owner.
What a brilliant site especially for dog owners there are nice walks for dogs on well kept paths. The site is well kept the best I've seen so far. The toilet block is clean with plenty of hand washing facilities, I didn't see any children's play area on site but there were no children there at this time.
Ribchester is well known for the roman ruins but we didn't visit due to weather
This is a well kept site and I will definitely return.

We have recently stayed at Dale Hey caravan park & what a brilliant site this is! We are new to caravanning & this was our first trial outing. We thought we knew what to do-but soon found out we didn't, but we were met by John the owner who helped us so much, it would take ages to describe all the help he gave us (and Colin, the site caretaker, who was brilliant too). We can't thank them enough for making our holiday so good. The site is lovely. Well maintained, shower block modern & spotlessly clean. The views from the site are breathtaking. Highly, highly recommended. We'll be returning. |

What a nice clean site with great views. Hardstanding with hook ups. Really friendly and helpful owners. Only one toilet for C.C members and no showers but only stayed 2 nights and at £10 night for 2 that's a bargain.
Would definitely stay there again. John has made some excellent walks around the site and doesn't seem to stop working at making the site nicer. You really need a car to go for eats and drinks at night as its uphill all the way back from Ribchester.

Very neat, clean, tidy CCC Certificated site. The owners should be very proud of the thought and effort they have obviously made in providing such an unspoiled site in a gentle, countryside setting.
For £10 per night we were provided with a level hardstanding pitch with electricity and water. No shower, but a very well designed disabled toilet, with key, at no deposit.
There was a large, local 2 night rally at the weekend, but set at a distance from our own. Being a Country & Western rally, they were naturally attracted by the large purpose made, on-site community hall, which again made no inroads to our tranquillity.
I was surprised at the emptiness of Ribchester, being of such historical importance, but there are things to see, with a good play area for children. There is a Black Bull pub, which I understand is nigh on closure, and, a White Bull pub which seems to be thriving, with a good reputation for food etc. The Ribchester Arms also seems to offer all within a country setting.
We love fresh farm eggs when caravanning and we were not disappointed with Singleton Farm just down the road offering 1 doz. large @ £1.30 and extra large @ £1.50. Overall to be recommended to anyone wanting a quiet life.

Just got back from a 2 night stay here and it was fantastic. The site owners are probably two of the friendliest people I've ever met, felt like we'd known them for ever.
The toilets were spotless, no matter what time you went in them - no showers as yet but they are in working progress! The owners have made a brill walk(s) through the woods with dog Poo bins dotted along the paths.
We had gone to the site primarily to go walking, but thanks to our dog injuring himself and a trip to the local vet which cost £220 we ended up just 'chilling' and a really cheap weekend ended up costing a fortune! Will definitely return to this site and cannot recommend it highly enough. |

We have just spent the most relaxing few days at the site. Excellently situated and convenient for a variety of pursuits. The views are quite spectacular, the facilities first class and the pitches well proportioned giving ample space to enjoy the surroundings in peace and quiet. A great deal of thought has gone into the planning and layout. John and Catherine the owners, could not have been more helpful and we wish them every success with the venture. Diary dates penciled in for the forthcoming summer season.
